ISRO VSSC Recruitment 2025: Vacancies Announced for Technical & Scientific Assistant Posts

The Indian Space Research Organisation’s Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (ISRO VSSC) has issued a major recruitment notification for the year 2025, inviting online applications for the posts of Technical Assistant, Scientific Assistant, and Library Assistant-A. The online registration process has already started and will remain open from 4 June 2025 to 18 June 2025. These vacancies are to be filled at ISRO units including VSSC in Thiruvananthapuram, ADRIN in Secunderabad, and NESAC in Meghalaya.

As per the official notification, the post of Technical Assistant is being offered in multiple disciplines such as Electronics, Mechanical, Computer Science, Chemical, Automobile, Civil, and Refrigeration & Air Conditioning. All applicants must possess a First Class Diploma in the relevant engineering field. For Scientific Assistant positions, a Bachelor’s degree in Physics or Chemistry is mandatory depending on the specific role. The Library Assistant-A post requires a candidate to hold a graduate degree followed by a First Class Master’s degree in Library Science or Library & Information Science.

The total monthly gross emoluments for all these positions will be approximately ₹78,000. All posts are classified under Level 7 of the pay matrix (₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400). The age limit for all applicants is 18 to 35 years as on 18 June 2025, with applicable age relaxations provided to SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, Ex-servicemen, and departmental candidates as per Government of India rules.

The selection process for these posts will include a written test followed by a skill test. The written test will carry 80 questions based on the academic syllabus of the relevant qualification and will be held for a duration of 90 minutes. For General and EWS candidates, the minimum qualifying marks in the written exam are 32 out of 80, while for SC, ST, OBC, and other reserved categories it is 24. Those who qualify in the written test will be shortlisted for the skill test in the ratio of 1:5 per vacancy, subject to a minimum of 10 candidates. The skill test will be of qualifying nature only, with minimum marks set at 50 for General and 40 for reserved categories.

The application fee is ₹750, which will be refunded fully to Female, SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-servicemen candidates if they appear for the written test. Other candidates will be refunded ₹500 after deducting bank charges upon appearing in the test. The application must be submitted online only, and all important updates will be communicated through the official VSSC website or email.

Vacancies are also reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) under various categories. Candidates falling under this category should ensure they upload the relevant certificates while applying. The final selection will be made strictly on the basis of written test marks for those who qualify the skill test. Candidates are advised to carefully fill in their bank details for the refund process and to retain a copy of their online application for future reference.

The written test is expected to be conducted in multiple cities across India, including Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Patna, Jaipur, and others. However, VSSC reserves the right to allocate examination centers based on administrative requirements.

All selected candidates may be posted at any ISRO/Department of Space unit across India, although the primary postings are expected at VSSC and its allied centers. Applicants are advised to beware of fake job offers and unauthorized agents and to refer only to the official ISRO/VSSC website for genuine updates.
